Coupling of the Physical-Ecological-Economic Models (Task 6.3)

This task set the stage for the coupling of the socio-economic and natural sciences “modules” by defining the specifications for the potential coupling of environmental and socio-economic models.

Background and Rationale

A consistent, internally coherent and integrated framework will be set up for the coupling of the socio-economic and natural sciences “modules” and will share the DPSIR (Driving Force-Pressure-State-Impact-Response) model by collecting and organising information from all the work packages. In this way, environmental pressures and socio-economic mechanisms will be considered in parallel. Furthermore, this approach will contribute to exploring the positive/negative feedbacks that economic and social responses impose on the marine ecosystems of interest.
