Steering GroupThe coordination of the project's activities is a vital component of its success. Accordingly, special emphasis has been given to the organisational aspects in order to ensure the timely production of the deliverables and dissemination of the results. The Steering Group (Scientific Committee), the governing body of the project, which makes policy and policy decisions, consists of t he IASON Coordinator (Chairman) and the WP Leaders. The first task was to organise the kick-off meeting ( February 3-5 2005-- see list of participants) , where the workgroups for each workpackage and each task within the workpackages were set up. The Report of the first workshop has already been produced. The Steering Group, having distributed the tasks to the relevant work package team, will overview the project’s results and prepare the agenda for the Final Conference. Within the project structure, WP leaders are responsible for collecting the final scientific reports from the partners, collating the information and compiling a draft form of their deliverables. WP leaders are also responsible for transferring the Steering Committee decisions to their WP partners and delivering the progress/management-report of the work-package to the coordinator every six months. Furthermore, the WP leader has the task of writing the final scientific report and producing the deliverables of the WP, in close cooperation with the task leaders. To this purpose, the task leaders will provide the necessary deliverables to the WP leaders. Throughout the project’s duration virtual SC meetings will be held via Internet to assess the progress of the project and provide solutions when necessary. The deliverables will be processed by the WP and task leaders and the final overview and decisions will be taken during the WP Final Workshop, to be done prior to the final Scientific Conference. |
